1. Why do we need to know how to make an unoccupied and occupied bed?
So that when someone needs our help, we already what to do and even we are not fixing the bed for a hospital we can fix our own bed at home so that it will be fixed.
It is very important for the fast recovery of the patient because with making the bed you can make the bed sheet more comfortable for the patient so that it won't be irritating for the patient and the bed will not be always soiled if we always change the bed sheet.
3. As a good home nurse, how will you be able to render your services to your patient through bed making?
I can render it by helping the patient in fixing the bed and making the patient comfortable by fixing the bed sheet.
Bathing the Patient
1. Why do you need to give a bath to the patient?
We need to give a bath to the patient so that the patient will be clean and fresh and the blood circulation will circulate properly.
2. What are the materials needed for bed bath or sponge bath?
2 big towels, 2 small towels, rubber sheet, basin with hot water, scap, light blanket.
3. What’s the importance of using a urinal or bedpan?
The patient needs to use this because if the patient cannot go to the bathroom the home nurse can put the bedpan or urinal.
4. What do you mean by back rub?
Back rub means that you are giving a massage to a person and it is used to refresh the patient.
5. How do you differentiate cold compress from hot compress?
Cold compress uses cloth that is dipped in cold water and it relieves pain or reduce inflammation or used as a comfort measure while hot compress uses a cloth that is compressed with heat and relieves pain and congestion and it also increases circulation locally
